A gift for separated dads on Fathers Day 2011

Media Release
Tuesday 30 August 2011, Wellington NZ

Separating dads can now get information in ‘no-bull man-speak’ thanks to a project launched today.

New Zealand-based website DIYFather.com is releasing an online resource for separated dads on Fathers Day. The material includes 30 articles on topics such as legal rights, parenting during and after separation, and how to get help. “We wanted to do something for separated dads because many of them can't enjoy Father's Day with their whole family, and some don't even have access to their kids,” says DIYFather director Stefan Korn.

The project was originally inspired by requests from dads for practical information on separation. Korn explains that during the research for this project it became clear that there is a lot of confusing information available for separated dads and often the language or tone used by information provides is not helpful.

Desperately seeking separated dads

We are in the final stages of releasing a resource for separated dads - so we are looking for some volunteers to have a look at the material we have put together and give us feedback on it. If you are a separated dad and would be interested in helping other dads by making our material even better, please contact us.

THANK YOU!
